Name: Chad Engles
Club: F-M Walleyes Unlimited, Inc.
NDSFC Position: Delegate

How many years have you been involved with NDSFC?

6 Years

What is your favorite part about fishing?
Spending time outdoors.

What is your favorite fish to catch?
Smallmouth Bass are for sure my favorite species to chase, especially trophy caliber fish that aren't so easy to come by.

What are your hopes for the future of fishing in North Dakota?
My hope for North Dakota fishing is that the States fisheries, which have increased in number in recent decades, are sustained. Climate will play a big part in this of course. I want to see future generations introduced to angling as our resource will only be as good as the passion that exists to keep it alive. Finally, I would like to see fisheries management of small waters in North Dakota grow beyond the "take and replace" strategy for walleye and perch. This type of management for walleyes and perch should definitely continue, but additional angling opportunities should be added into the mix. Management geared toward developing and sustaining large trophy caliber sport fish such as largemouth bass and smallmouth bass should be included in the mix of small water angling opportunities.

What else should we know about you?
In addition to supporting F-M Walleyes and the NDSFC, I am part of the leadership group of the Lake Agassiz High School Fishing League, and I coach the Fargo Shanley High School Fishing Team. Introducing youth to the outdoors through angling has been very rewarding.
